Weston & Sampson is seeking a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer with 6-10 years of experience with traffic or roadway design to work out of our Manchester, NH office. The Transportation group is currently expanding our traffic engineering practice.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for preparing studies, design plans, specifications and other contract documents for public bidding and to meet client deliverables.
  • Responsible for leading a variety of transportation related projects from a technical and financial perspective and overseeing the work of support staff.
  • Peer review services of designs prepared by others.
  • Work will also include supporting our other disciplines as well as our external client base.
  • May be required to perform on-site sample collection/field work that may include oversight of contractors and subcontractors.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering
  • Traffic engineering experience using Synchro, SimTraffic, Sidra, HCS preferred. Experience with VISSIM will be considered highly advantageous
  • Experience with the preparation of traffic studies, engineering studies, and corridor studies. Experience with the preparation of roadway and intersection design plans including traffic signal and traffic signal system designs
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) and Bentley MicroStation (InRoads/OpenRoads a plus).
  • Professional Engineer Registration in New Hampshire is required with the ability to obtain registration in other states upon hiring
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills is essential
  • Some travel will be required to client meetings, projects sites, and potentially to other W&S office locations throughout the eastern US.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
