Weston & Sampson is currently seeking an Environmental Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with 8-15 years of experience in our Portsmouth, NH or Reading, MA office. This candidate must have a strong work ethic and desire to be part of a growing team. 

 

The successful candidate will be a client focused seller/doer with strong business development skills and existing industry and regulatory relationships to join our dynamic team and help grow our services with a particular focus on environmental assessment, remediation and permitting. The ideal candidate has experience across the region, has excellent people skills, enjoys meeting/developing new connections and the willingness to work individually as well as in a team-oriented atmosphere. Relationships working with MassDEP, NHDES, MEDEP and/or EPA is a plus.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Oversight of staff performing environmental assessment and remediation at cleanup sites and redevelopment projects in MA, NH, and ME.
  • Supervise and lead project teams to perform environmental and engineering studies and designs using recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with internal multi-disciplinary teams and through external teaming relationships.
  • Pursue new work opportunities through established client relationships, market sector awareness, and competitive pursuits, including participation in proposal development and interviews / presentations.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Participate in professional organizations and technical committees.
  • Develop and define project scope, schedule, and fee; determine work procedures, staffing, and sub-consultant assignments.
  • Supervise multiple projects and clients along with managing technical, budgetary and client aspects of projects.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience.
  • Experience working in the environmental field with the focus on project management and site investigation and remediation of contaminated sites in NH, ME, and MA.
  • PE certification or ability to obtain considered a plus but not required.
  • 8 plus years of relevant experience working in an environmental assessment, remediation, engineering and/or project management role.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and clients, along with the associated administrative, budgetary, and financial tracking elements of projects.
  • Highly effective with written and verbal communication, including public presentations.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, team leadership, and mentoring.
  • Possesses high ethical standards, committed to producing high quality work, with a commitment to teamwork, respect and integrity.
  • A client focused seller/doer mindset with strong business development skills and existing industry and regulatory relationships
  • Ability to manage the workload demands of diverse projects.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
