OPM Field Representative

Weston & Sampson is looking for a candidate that is local to the North Boston area to assist with field representative services for OPM (Owner’s Project Manager) tasks on varying vertical construction projects.

What you’ll do:

• The projects will require coordination with clients and operations staff, contract administration and reporting, and coordination with engineers working in support.
• The candidate needs to provide a flexible working schedule and travel as project needs arise.
• Review contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of project compliance.
• Review Contractor’s work schedules and updates with the Resident Project Representative (RPR).
• Attend construction meetings; check compliance of shop drawings and other construction modifications; observe quality of construction; prepare site visit reports of construction work; record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements.
• Review claims for extra work/change orders with the RPR and design engineer.
• Maintain, liaison and attend regular site meetings to anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions.
• Review and provide comment/input on Contractor’s monthly payment estimates; construction “punch lists:” to be completed or corrected; participate in equipment start-up oversight and operator training.
• Occasional evening hours may be required and potential attendance/participation in meetings with municipal boards/commissions.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction-related field
• 3+ years of experience with vertical water/wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations, and related mechanical work
• OSHA 10-hour construction certification and other related training preferred
• Survey and design engineering experience is a plus
• Experience with general construction inspection policies, procedures, and administrative requirements
• Working knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulations
• Skilled in public relations, written and verbal communications, and organization/time-management
• Ability to prepare and maintain electronic field records efficiently and accurately
• Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipalities, and residents
• Valid driver’s license and mode of transportation to get to various project sites
