Weston & Sampson CMR’s division is looking for a Senior Mechanic Foreman out of the Rocky Hill, CT office.  This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of the team to complete specific projects and serves clients, and general repairs.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of staff to ensure that the job is done skillfully and efficiently, and that assigned work progresses within budget and on schedule.
  • Coordinate construction activities on a wide range of mid-sized projects (swimming pools, excavation/site work, concrete/rebar, pump stations, treatment plants) Average project size $20,00 to $1,000,000.
  • Take on a leadership role, read plans and scope of work, coordinate with owners and subcontractors, order materials, run a small crew, and physically perform work. 
  • Routes material and equipment to staff and relaying appropriate information about the job to staff. 
  • Perform repairs and replacements of the following:
    • Piping materials (PVC, ductile iron) from ½-inch to 24-inch diameter.
    • Check, gate and flap valves.
    • Pumps (water/wastewater – submersible, dry pit, suction lift).
  • Travel overnight for various projects throughout New England.
  • Available to provide 24hr service for emergency repairs 

What you will bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years in a construction industry with progressive responsibilities
  • Knowledgeable in a wide range of construction activities. 
  • OSHA 10 preferred

Preferred but not required:

    • Certified Pool Operator, wastewater or water treatment experience
    • Cutting and welding certified
    • Equipment Operator’s license
    • Construction Supervisor’s License
  • Excavator 1a 2c license preferred
  • Ability to obtain Department of Transportation (DOT) health card
  • Demonstrated budgetary and management skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors and staff
  • Knowledge of applicable codes
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills
  • Communicate effectively, with strong writing, verbal and mechanical skills
  • Organize, manage, coordinate multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license
