Wastewater.Water Operator

Weston & Sampson Services is currently looking for an Operator with experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment and water distribution systems for the Charleston, South Carolina area. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and associated pump stations within the service area.

What you’ll do:

• General observation, inspections, monitoring and sampling of water treatment plants, water distribution systems and biological wastewater treatment plants
• Operation and maintenance of plant equipment, i.e., flow meters, blowers, pumps, valves and processes
• Analyze problems and make process adjustments as needed
• Perform calibrations and maintenance of pH, dissolved oxygen, chlorine and temperature meters
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements
• Able to work occasional overtime, holidays, weekends, and nights as required

What you will bring:

• 3 Years experience in wastewater treatment, water treatment and water distribution
• SC Class B Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator License
• SC Class D Water Treatment License
• SC Class D Water Distribution License
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge operation and maintenance of water treatment plants that use chlorine gas and sodium hypochlorite
• Understanding of compliance field lab monitoring, sampling, reporting and quality control procedures
• Ability to able to climb ladders and lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with computers in a Windows based environment
• Self-starter and work independently and remotely
• Valid driver's license
