    Responsibilities

    Weston & Sampson is looking for an individual to perform work involving multiple skills including, but not limited to, construction, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in water/wastewater pump stations and treatment plants.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Service, repair and maintain wastewater/water pump stations and treatment facility equipment
    • Be knowledgeable of proper use and care for equipment and supplies; Maintain equipment and supplies and keep in good working order
    • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs of pump controls and basic electrical knowledge
    • Be an active participant in the installation and construction of new equipment and pump stations
    • Perform maintenance, repair and new installation of PVC, and ductile iron piping and valves.
    • Provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Prepared for on call service work as we are a 24/7 emergency contractor.
    • Administers and delegates to the driving safety protocols and participates in the defensive driving training; maintains recordkeeping associated with the use of a company vehicle and other company driving policies
    • Is knowledgeable of, and works to be in compliance with, the policies and procedures of the company
    • Complete weekly technical safety meetings

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 3 years of wastewater/water mechanical equipment repairs preferred
    • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a team environment and get along with others
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively, with strong writing, verbal and mechanical skills
    • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently
    • Ability to organize, manage, and coordinate multiple assignments
    • The ability to meet deadlines, to work cooperatively with others and when necessary, work overtime and weekends
    • Must have strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other database software
    • Must be able to communicate through email & complete reports in a timely and complete manner
    • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and must be able to climb a ladder, minimum of 15 feet
    • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
    • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
    • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
    • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
    • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
