Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a survey instrument operator to meet our current workload in the New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut areas.  


Job Requirements:

  • At least 1 (minimum) to 3 years’ experience of survey field experience with boundary, topographic and construction layout survey on a variety of project types including residential, commercial and institutional sites.
  • Knowledge of robotic instruments, GPS units and methodologies of field data collection.
  • Daily responsibilities will include: operation, care and maintenance of field equipment, heavy lifting, cutting of brush, and adaptability to variable weather conditions.
  • Self-motivation, good interpersonal relations, ability to follow directions, quick learner with eagerness to advance. 
  • Overnight stays out of town will sometimes be required to complete the duration of a budgeted field assignment.
  • Computer skills using AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver’s license
