Responsibilities

Weston & Sampson is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer with 0-3 years of experience at our Peabody, MA office.

The successful candidate must have a Master’s Degree with a focus in geotechnical engineering and have, or be close to obtaining, a Massachusetts EIT.

Experience with geotechnical field investigations, construction observation, and geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, and soil/structure interaction is preferred.

Dam experience is preferred.

 

Qualifications

The candidate must have excellent technical writing skills. Additional position requirements are as follows:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, responsible, dedicated, and dependable.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

The candidate will be responsible for monitoring geotechnical field investigations and construction activities, preparation of boring logs and daily site visit reports, and will assist with preparation of proposals, technical reports, specifications, construction drawings, and dam safety inspection reports.
